Ryan Swope was born on September 20, 1990 and grew up in Austin, Texas like teammate Michael Walker. Additionally, Ryan Swope's younger brother is a defensive back for the Texas A&M Aggies football team, just like brothers Luke and Matt Joeckel.
Ryan Swope was a state finalist sprinter on the Westlake High School track team and a football player who notched many strong years of high school play. Ryan Swope's senior year was especially strong. Ryan Swope sprinted for 1,826 yards and 27 touchdowns. Ryan Swope also caught 21 passes totaling 443 yards and rsulting in 4 touchdowns.
Ryan Swope earned all-state honors and was an offensive MVP for his strong football career. Ryan Swope considered Texas Tech but opted for Texas A&M instead.
Ryan Swope played as a true freshman in 2009 and appeared in all but the first game of the year. Ryan Swope was mostly on special teams that season and had 4 receptions and 3 tackles. Swope is hoping to show his fellow Aggies this coming season that he is more than just another player on the team.
