Lionel Smith (#33) was born August 18, 1987 in New Orleans, Louisiana. While attending Houston Bellaire High School, Lionel Smith played defensive back for the first time. Lionel Smith earned second-team all-district honors. As a sophomore at St. Bernard High School in LA, Lionel Smith was the starter at quarterback in an option attack and he led his team to the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

In his freshman year of college, Lionel Smith saw his first career action in the season opener against Arkansas State. Now going into his senior year at Texas A&M, Smith hopes to continue his talented career with the Aggies. Currently standing at 6’0” and weighing 174lbs, this Aggies defensive back is sure to display his vast array of skills.
