Jonathon Mathis is a homegrown Texan and has been Westfield High School graduate. Mathis started his football career as a defensive linesman for the Westfield Mustangs and has never faltered in perfecting every aspect of this position.

Originally, Jonathon Mathis chose to play for the Blinn College Buccaneers where he helped lead his fellow Buccaneers to the NJCAA national championship. During those first few years playing college ball, Mathis earned SuperPrep JUCO 100 honors and the offers from Big 12 schools started piling in. After offers from top schools, such as Arisona and Houston, Jonathon Mathis chose to put his talent into the right hands.
